Graduates
Once you have graduated from your degree, there are three steps to becoming a CPA:
- Become an Associate member (ASA) of CPA Australia.
- Enrol in the CPA Program and complete six segments.
- Complete three years mentored practical work experience to complement your CPA Program studies.
If you've completed your degree, and it is accredited by CPA Australia, then you are ready to become an ASA and begin the CPA Program. Search accredited courses to see if your course qualifies.
To be an ASA, you must commit to undertaking continuing professional development and advance to CPA status within six years.
If you have not completed auditing and / or taxation at an undergraduate level, you can now complete them as part of the CPA Program at postgraduate level.
Non-accredited qualifications outside of Australia must be assessed by CPA Australia.
Two exemptions from elective segments of the CPA Program are available to people who have completed a relevant undergraduate degree and an approved specialist masters degree, such as Master of Taxation.
